The Lion King (Australia) – Regent Theatre
Congratulations to Kushinka Jayewardene who is currently playing the role of Young Nala in Disney’s The Lion King at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne. Kushinka went through several rounds of auditions with youngsters coming to display their talents from all across the country! We were waiting on the edge of our seats for that final phone call and we are over the moon! Congrats to Kayla, Ashleigh and Tiffany who were also selected to audition for the role. We are absolutely thrilled for the Kushinka whose charisma has always shone through on stage and we look forward to sitting in the audience cheering her on.
Well done to little Zara who has just come off set from filming scenes in the mini series Childhoods End based on the Arthur C. Clarke book. In very hot conditions the youngster had a ball and we look forward to seeing the finished production later in the year on the American sci-fi channel.

Coles Ad – Coles
Look out for James making his television debut in a series of Coles commercials! Spending 12 hours eating meat that is ‘yum’ has been quite an experience for the upcoming superstar. Looking forward to more things to come.

We are so very proud of our little 8 year old Kushinka Jayewardene who made her stage debut in Williamstown Theatre Company’s production of High School Musical. It was brilliant to see the little star shining centre stage with all the funky dance moves!
Look out Broadway here she comes!
Der Kriminalkommisar – Perridot Theatre Company
We are so proud of our Harley Beechey who will be starring in the Peridot Players’ “Der Kriminalkommisar” written by Michael McLean and directed by Edna Bartlett. Harley plays Alexander, the son of Erika and Martin Lindner who are about to flee the country one cold winter’s evening in Hamburg. Performances start mid June and we look forward to seeing Harley’s stage debut! Congratulations Harley!
The Catchment Players
We are absolutely thrilled that Isabelle Gan, Genevieve Woolley, Elise Thorbecke, Alexandra Baker and George Evangolakos will be starring in The Catchment Player’s Honk Jr playing this August. Honk Jr is the story of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Ugly Duckling. Isabelle has given up two roles, one from Annie and the other from The Wizard of Oz in order to play the beautifully posh goose Maureen. Genevieve will be a delightful goosey air hostess who is married to George who is performing as both Drake and Greylag the admiral goose. Elise has been given the role of Maggie Pie the cheeky television journalist, and Alexandra will be playing Beaky who is one of Ugly’s siblings. With such a large cast from our drama school, we’ll be sure to fill up many seats! – perhaps over many nights! A big well done to Jean-Marc and Anthony who also auditioned. The directors encourage you both to continue pursuing your acting. We can’t wait for opening night, and some fun drives to and from rehearsals!
The Sound of Music – Beaumaris Theatre
Congratulations to Caroline Woolley who will be performing in The Sound of Music as 13 year old, cheeky Louisa. The show will be on during the June/July holidays and we all hope to get a ticket! A big well done to all the drama girls who auditioned for The Sound of Music – Mia, Elise, Caroline, Cat, Eilidh, Gracie and Isy! We were absolutely thrilled when out of the 150 auditions Gracie and Caroline made it to the top 12! The Sound of Music is a favourite to many and we are sure the show will be a hit!
Dead Gorgeous – ABC / BBC
We are delighted that Alexandra Coppinger will have her first television show “Dead Gorgeous” air at 5:20pm on April 5th on the ABC1 not ABC3! Alexandra spent many months in rehearsals and filming the children’s comedy at Ripponlea Estate, Melbourne. She had lots of fun and has told us about many exciting adventures! With a fantastically talented cast, we are in high anticipation of the Monday night! Well done Alex!
Ruthless – Williamstown Little Theatre Company
We are so proud of Caroline Woolley who starred in “Ruthless” the musical production in October 2009. Her character Tina Denmark, was an 8 year old girl, with the personality of a cross between an evil Annie and Oliver. She sings, dances and hides a gun! The show was absolutely amazing. With an all adult cast, Caroline took to all rehearsals and her debut stage performance highly professionally. The picture of her with blinking evil red eyes was hilarious, as was her costume and character of “Puddles” the dog in the scene about Pippy Longstocking!
We look forward to more fantastic acts from Caroline in the future!
